Question:

What is causing so many home foreclosure problems in the US? What can the home owners do to alleviate these problem?

Answer:

The many foreclosure problems in the country today may be caused by the banks, the borrowers and the government itself.

Why are banks answerable to this kind of problem?

Many banks today let a lot of people borrow and own a house through mortgage payments. Many are qualified even if they cannot really make their payments in the long run. So once the borrower or homeowner misses his payments for at least three consecutive months, the foreclosure process will begin. The second factor that contributes to the large amounts of foreclosure problems in the country is the borrower himself.

Sometimes, people enter the mortgage business without even knowing what lies in it and what possible problems can he encounter. Because of the thought of having a home is very inspiring and important, people jump to mortgaging even if they cannot really pay for it in the long run. Since many people do this without preparing themselves, many properties are foreclosed on, giving losses to both lender and borrower.

The most important thing that homeowners should do in order to avoid this problem is by diligently paying their monthly mortgage. If every homeowner keeps his mortgage payments current, no foreclosure issue or problem will be encountered.
